Autumn Colours for Immune Support
As the seasons are changing here in the UK, many of us are feeling a dip in our immune health and coming down with unwanted colds and flu. Believe it or not, having a cold can actually be very good for you, as it is the body’s way of ‘cleaning’, and is a sign that your immune system is doing its job. But when colds take a long time to shake off, or develop into deeper illnesses, this can be a sign that the immune system is compromised.
If this is a concern for you, then there are steps we can take to support our immune system, and one of my favourite daily rituals includes this drink seen in the picture made of lemon juice, turmeric, black pepper, ginger and room warm/room temperature water (cold water shocks the stomach). Lemon juice is a natural source of vitamin C and creates alkaline conditions in the stomach, turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory and is absorbed more efficiently if combined with black pepper, and ginger can help to fight infections (among many other benefits).
If you aren’t into drinking daily concoctions, then there are so many other immune health support solutions accessible to you, including homeopathy, a nutrition overview and good quality health supplements.
